fun political test
Here are my results

Yeah, I am extreme left but I am also a yellow dog dem, and very happy with Kerry-Edwards as our ticket, I can also explain to you why I am slightly more moderate on foreign policy, ya see I think the middle man approach is a good idea and that negotiating with Kim Jong II through and with his local neighbors is the best way to go about, instead of a premptive attack. So call me a commie, marxist, or even a socialist, and I tell ya I am just a liberal democrat.

Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 05:31 PM by Pithlet
http://www.csmonitor.com/cgi-bin/politicalIssuesQuiz.pl No surprises.

I am voting for Kerry.

On edit: it changed my results so that I was at the farthest left every time. I was close for all three, but not at the very end. It told me my ideal candidates were Nader/Cobb.

11. the scale is pegged to the left
on the economy, and close to pegging the left on foreign policy and cultural issues. since i know what people in that spectrum say, i am not surprised at all...i haven't changed since i was, like, 6. that was when i told my mom that i was for Nixon because Kennedy's hair was too fluffy. (hey-brylcreem ruled in those days) she was aghast, to say the least and told me a guy's hair was probably the LAST reason upon which to base an important decision.
a quick study, i immediately eschewed Sugar Babies and Sugar Daddys because Robert Welch, owner of Welch's was also the president of the John Birch Society.

13. Interesting quiz...
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 06:23 PM by Darranar
my position on gun control knocked me off a bit on the cultural scale, but I was fully left on economics and almost fully left on foreign policy.

Unsurprisingly, I came close to Nader and Cobb on all three.

14. I finished up at about the same place you did, John,
or slightly to the left, LOL! My friend sent me this, yesterday, and I was disheartened to learn that I am, again, most closely aligned with Ralph "Unsafe at Any Speed" Nader. I got him as my top pick the first time I took that SelectSmart Test, but, on my second try, I matched up 100% with Dennis Kucinich, who I had already decided was my candidate. Too bad he's not still in the race. I seem to be well to the left of John Kerry, who was third for me in the SelectSmart test, which is not bad, and he's my candidate now, since Dennis has dropped out. But Kerry's "the #1 most liberal senator," and this scares me to death, LOL! I must be a total anarchist, if I am so much more liberal than the dreaded Kerry! Nader would be a waste of a vote, and the Libertarian candidate, who I was also aligned with, while raising valid concerns about preserving the Constitution, which Bush* wants to rewrite, nobody has heard of and few people ever will.

God, I'm weird. I know some of my opinions tend toward the Libertarian, for example I support some gun rights, but for the most part I'm a pinko.

Economic issues:

For economic issues, I was associated with Nader's words (note: Words. we all know his actions differ.)

Foreign policy:

On par with Kerry here.

Cultural issues:

A cross between Kerry and some guy named Michael Badnarik.

22. Gus Hall longtime communist candiate for president was a Navy vet
heh, I think I was slightly less hawkish in foreign policy because of my middle man approach instead of slashing Israel's foreign aid and I had a moderate approach to Kim Jong II.

23. I say slash foreign aid to Israel
It should force them to try and get along with the Palestinians

With NK, instead of Shrubya slacking off and throwing everything in the laps of Asian Nations, he should show some backbone and lead in the diplomatic arena.

Diplomacy won't irradiate the Korean Peninisula

27. Hmmm....I'm closer to the Greens on social and economic issues
But aligned with Kerry on foreign policy.

While I'm proud of the Greens in my country (Australia), I don't think Nader is representative of any of the ideas put forward by this test. But this is the Lounge so we won't up this topic.
