2. If the fish is fresh, and it's prepared by a skilled chef? Yes.
If not? There is nothing in this world worse than bad sushi.

43. That's one great place
Used to eat there in high school - we'd drive up there as fast as we could during lunch and get our sushi fix. :9

Shiro's is another good place, as is Chinoise; I like the one on MLK and Madison; Jae, their sushi chef, went to the Culinary Institute of America and is a great guy.

You want to make sure it arrives on a direct flight, aboard a nice cold plane. ;)

13. Sushi is defined by the rice.
There's no reason not to make a brat & cheese nigri.

16. A Japan Town (Los Angeles) sushi place....
Showed me what happens when sushi goes bad. It was a couple of years before I could enjoy it again. But I eventually recovered.

Good sushi exists in Houston--some traditional, some not so traditional.

20. There is a place on 22nd and Washington in MN.
You can go to any fresh-fish store, you just need to request "sushi grade" and make sure you make it that day. This place is pretty damn authentic, though. Sushi-grade, including what you buy in restaurants, has usually been flash frozen to kill parasites, and then thawed and served.

Cook the fish and I might eat it. I think people eat sushi because it's hip, but I could be wrong.

17. There are plenty of maki (rolls) made with cooked fish
You can get cooked crab, smoked salmon, lobster...the word "sushi" actually just refers to the rice.

12. Sushi is vital.
I could eat Sushi (and just about any other Japanese food I've tried) every day if it wasn't so damned expensive.

It also was about the only food I could choke down during a bout of depression I had a few years back.

Sushi is kinda hard to find over here. My substitute is 'Haring', a raw herring covered in onions. It's great! Oh, and thanks. I like the flag too.

There's lots of pretty girls, and all that bike riding keeps them nice and fit. I'm sure you'd like it. I'm still waiting for my ballot I've only sent it off 10 days ago. Sure, I've got a spare mattress in my apartment :)

32. Not all sushi is expensive...
At least one place downtown (Houston) has sushi happy hour--$1.00 a piece. And the rice makes it rather filling.

for me at least, but i'm like a black hole when it comes to sushi. The problem is finding a good all you can eat place. Alot of them are so-so at best. There's only a few good places i've found that offer it.
