......even though I live in Illinois.

I know that this is very uncharacteristic for an Illinoisian to speak well of the Hoosier state, but the truth compels me to.

Just spent the weekend at a B&B called the Duneland Beach Inn near the Indiana-Michigan border on Lake Michigan. What a wonderful place, and the food......every morsel, every tidbit, every bite was pure ambrosia. We really enjoyed our stay. I'd recommend it to anyone and plan on going back real soon and real often.

Secondly, had a beer at a lunch place in Michigan City called 'Back Roads Belgian-Style Wit' which is brewed in LaPorte, Indiana. Can't get it in Illinois so I just called a store over the border in Highland and told them I'd be over in the next couple of days to pick up a case. This is the best beer I've had in long time. Coriander and orange peel are apparent, but so refreshing. Especially sitting out on the restaurant patio on a late Summer day.

Congrats you Hoosiers. You done good.

1. another good thing
they lost an electoral vote. This election they can only give 11 to the republicans instead of 12.

5. Dude, are you okay?
The only good thing that I can say about Indiana is that their gas is cheaper than Illinois'.

7. I live in Bloomington, a liberal oasis in a sea of ignorance.
Every so often a church group from a nearby small town comes to town with all sorts of evil, hateful signs protesting the "den of sin and homosexuality" that is Indiana University. I'm extremely proud to live in a town that threatens these people's ancient way of thinking.

Indiana gets a bad rap, so thanks for the kind words!

10. The Dunes lakeshore is beautiful.
I used to do a lot of salmon fishing at Indiana Harbor. Michiana Shores is very nice too.

12. Ever been to Long Beach?
Just east of Michigan City?

Those people have got themselves quite the set-up. Gorgeous area. I was surprised.

I had been to the state parks in IN & MI, but had never seen some of the more private areas. My brother is thinking of buying property in Michigan City. It's nice.

11. I attended a conference in Indianapolis
I thought they did a nice job fixing the place up. The river park was very nice. The State Museum is pretty nice, too. And there was some big German beer garden place.
