The remnants of hurricane Ivan have spun a circle and are crossing the Florida peninsula today, may re-enter the gulf and strengthen.

that would be just a cruel twist of fate if the storm hits the panhandle again.

man this has been one strange year for hurricanes

1. If that were to happen, would it be considered Ivan II, or would it...
get a new name?

Good luck, Floridian. From a Mississippian. :scared:

I tell them I'm hoping to be a nice storm and just go fishing in the mid-atlantic a while.

Excerpt from an NHC bulletin forwarded to me this morning:
">>LISA IS A SMALL AND RATHER COMPACT TROPICAL CYCLONE. AS SUCH...IT
IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO SHARP CHANGES IN INTENSITY...BOTH STRENGTHENING AND
WEAKENING."

Given that I'm shorter than average, I suppose it was just too good a shot to pass up. By the way, the sender is in Alabama -- imagine the irony, if "Hurricane Patty" comes roaring through in 2006!

For the other Lisas out there -- here's a list of the proposed names in the Atlantic and Pacific. If people are giving you a hard time, see if they've got namesakes!

(retired names)

9. But the center of circulation (Low pressure) of Ivan
is now just off the coast of FL. I know since I got soaked when going out to lunch today near Daytona Beach.

14. Good news!
Jeanne will probably get ripped apart by upper level wind shear...

that's what my meteorology sources tell me anyway.
