No no no, I don't answer questions, I just seek unqualified praise and respect for no reason whatsoever. But Ron Mc-something and er, Moby Grape?

12. I know Chuck Schoning moved to SF
He kept the Frantics name for a while, but I don't know who they morphed into. And I'm curious, damn it! :D

11. yesh
too easy I suppose but I read your edit so no more questions from me. You have proven yourself worthy of undying praise and admiration, now I leave you to bask in the undying admiration and praise of others! Someday songs will be sung in homage to your masterful prowess!

Oh yes you got the Frantics question right too...It was Moby Grape, after an intermediate stage where they called themselves Luminous Marsh Gas...

Kudos for you!

15. I love Safe as Milk
Especially the expanded version that has primitive versions of Ice Rose and Dirty Blue Gene. So that one wasn't too bad. :D

17. Me too!
My faves of course from that album are "Zig Zag Wanderer" and "Electricity"...My all time favorite Captain Beefheart song, though, has to be "Big-Eyed Beans From Venus" from Clear Spot...

"Doc at the Radar Station" probably my favorite album, in addition to being awesome it just brings back memories of my best friend who died 18 years ago around this time...

Hedges, SLB and RandomKoolzip have that mantle--and judging from your questions, you may as well. Ask me any question from about '84 on, and I get further and further into trouble. :dunce:

edit: And FLAMINGYOUTH of course, who is posting right here in this thread! :silly:

5. Who did Mick Ronson play guitar for...
immediately after he left David Bowie's Spiders From Mars and an abortive attempt to join Mott the Hoople (not counting the album he did with Ian Hunter, but immediately after that)?

Edited on Mon Sep-20-04 07:57 PM by jpgray
But I'm not sure he played guitar on it. There's also Dylan and Morrissey stuff in there.

8. Thinking of Mick Ronson...
he produced (some say overproduced) an album by a group that featured ex-Sex Pistol Glen Matlock and future Ultravox leader Midge Ure...What was the name of the group?

20. ok...it was The Rich Kids
and I don't blame you for not knowing, they put out one lp and it was badly mixed, and I never cared for Midge Ure in any shape or form whatsoever (sorry Midge if you're reading this)...so I'll just toss this question out and proclaim you the winner! We have a lovely Amana Freezer waiting for you as a parting gift, please pick it up as you exit our stage...

I tend to opt for "Luminous Marsh Gas" as being the best band name ever! }( !!!

I think maybe jpgray would allow this thread to die now, however I might start a new one! :)
