I can't sleep. I'm cold...
Last time I looked at the calendar it was still summer...But for all intents and purposes summer ended here about a month ago...What's the deal with that?

5. Judging by your avatar I do live by you...
Portland. on a clear day I can see Washington (well Mt. St. Helens) from my building.

I'm not really complaining (oh ok so maybe I am) but I'm just not ready for the cold yet...September is usually the nicest month of the year here, weather-wise.

6. On a clear day I can see
OMG what the hell is that in the sky? Nevermind. I'm in the middle of a wheat field in Eastern Washington so all I see is wheat, and the occasional alien.

8. Near Othello?
or wherever? I suppose it doesn't matter (sorry, nothing personal), I used to drive to Spokane on a regular basis and in doing so learned a new meaning to the term "boredom", especially on the road between the Tri-Cities and Ritzville...There was a cool grain elevator I once stopped and took a picture of, however...
Washington is a weird state, geologically...perhaps even weirder than Oregon but I tend to lump the two together....

10. I hear ya!
I'm not really complaining about the weather here per se because after all this is my home and complaining to the weather gods gets you nowhere but I could have used another few weeks of warm sunny skies...I guess I played the grasshopper once too often when I should have been an ant!

I'm starting to yawn now so maybe I'll give sleep another chance!
Nice talking to you...:)

13. It's been FREEZING in Seattle
Ye gads, I thought it was just me, since I came back from steamy Texas. I actually came down with a cold over the weekend (hence why I'm up at 5 after my NyQuil crash last night) :(

14. I didn't know you lived in Seattle
whats the weather for the eastern side of the state? I hardly watch TV since I started building my time-consumming, hair-pulling, finger-bashing, sailboat.

20. I moved
downstairs for a coke and still ended back up at the computer, damn thing follows me everywhere. I shoulda realized that wireless internet in my house would lead to 'do nothing all day' syndrome.

16. I'm awake now...
In fact it's the next day and I'm at work and I go home in about three hours!
It looks like summer has returned for it's last full day. Pretty foggy this morning, though. I think fog is cool.

As for sleeping, I finally figured it out and got an extra afghan out of the closet and threw it over my feet (those are the parts which get cold)...the heat I have no control over, it comes as part of the rent and I have no thermostat (which is weird in of itself).

Actually, i just thought I'd post again because I'm surprised this thread is still on page one!

21. It's hot as hell all through the midwest
It's around 80 right now. And has been for the past month or so. We've hardly had a drop of rain, just lots of sun and bright blue skies. It's GREAT, after the crappy summer we had. Which was cold and overcast.
