My puppy's a neat freak
lord knows he didn't get it from me.

From the day I got him (a mere 9 days ago), he gathers up ALL his toys and puts them on his bed. He has 10 toys. We play with them, they get scattered around. Then he goes and picks up each one and puts it back on his bed.

I never taught him this... he just does it. Weird, huh?

2. Well, I just wish my Rottie would do that.
She has a huge basket of toys that are usually scattered all over the living room floor. Maybe she needs a lesson from your pup.

And boy, they sure loved the beach and going bye-bye.

38. Sadly, no.
My Pookie baby had to be put to sleep after a long, happy life.

I am sure she is in doogie heaven eating everything available, especially pasta, & generally stinking up the place.

Bassets are sweethearts, gentlest breed of dog I have known. But they are difficult to train because of stubborness.

Your dog, Tucker, you have said, is eager to please. Bassets are eager to please themselves only. And they are not the most brilliant of breeds.

But for a sweet, even-tempered, low-maintenance breed, they are great. And they are funny.

i almost cannot handle that much cute...you are so lucky to have the baby baby pics.

did you see the article a couple of months ago about how smart dogs are? i was wondering if, when he is of the age, if you will train him to know his toys by there different names, so you can tell him to get certain ones...

here's a link to a snip of the story...the yahoo link is expired, so this is only a fair use 3 paragraph snip...

I'm already teaching him the names of his toys. He seems to know which one is is "hedgehog" but the others sorta baffle him.

29. cool... thanks
Interesting. I'd be curious to know if the toys he's familiar with were HIS toys.

I can imagine a dog using his sense of smell to know which toys are his and which are new, and concluding that an unknown name must refer to the "new" toy.

Anyway, border collies are insanely smart - too smart for me.

a litter of 8, which is quite large for bulldogs.

edit: Also, mama was recovering from a c-section. Almost all bulldogs are born by c-section.

33. hehe
my bro and his partner fostered a family of pups two years ago. It was a greyhound mix mama who had JUST given birth to 10 puppies. The whole family was gonna be put down if they didn't foster 'em. So they did. This poor mama dog was just SOOOOOO drained by the whole experience. She was a sweet dog, but none too smart, and a bit of a whore, by looking at the number of fathers this litter had. There were labs, pit bulls, rottweilers and maybe another dad. But I felt so bad for this mama dog... she was so totally exhausted by dealing with the brood, and she was already thin and malnourished BEFORE giving birth.

It amazed me how dedicated mama dogs can be even when the puppies are killing them. I was also amazed at how she turned when it was time to wean. The loving, tender, sweet mama had NO hesitation when it came to biting the little bastards and saying "get away from me! You're on your own!"

35. ...
I used to work in a rescue center so I know exactly what you're talking about. The mommies just amazed me with their stamina and broke my heart when they were put down because their little bodies just couldn't handle anything more.
It is very funny when they say in their doggie language, "Enough! Get a job and find your own damn food!".

All I was saying was that, after everything I've seen, I'm so glad your puppy has you. He's a lucky little boy and he'll never know it! Just as it should be.

36. LOL - I know Freepers aren't as funny as us
Seriously, I almost got caught in a hopeless chat with a couple of Freeper idiots in a fansite chat room of all places. I mean, there were like 20 people in there to talk about A BAND, or other things perhaps, but these 2 neocon twits just would NOT shut up about the "fake documents" and how Dan Rather was being forced to retire, yada, yada, yada. I corrected them, but they didn't believe me and continued their delusional banter. Did they do the polite thing and create a private room so that they could do their little neocon jackoff together and let the rest of us chat about music? NOOOOOOOO!

Anyway, your behemoth puppy and his tidiness are precious.
