Edited on Tue Sep-21-04 08:37 PM by Lovecrafty
Incomplete I know, but I felt these were the most significant! If there's one I missed, just tell us! My favorite? :

15. That's my vote.
First monster I thought of, so it gets my vote.

However, I'm surprised. NO KING KONG? How can you have Godzilla with no King Kong?

:)

11. What about the Blob?
Scared hell out of me first time I saw it.

Or of course, there's Old Scratch, as played by pea green soup in The Exorcist. UGH!

22. That's Who I Meant . . .
when I referred to "Old Scratch" in a prior post. Linda was definitely not in control of her corporeal being at that point!

That's the scariest depiction of the Devil I have EVER seen in all of literature. So personal . . . and the more devout you are, the better subject of Beelzebub's domination.

Ufffff!

24. And the horror was purely psychological.
The film had no major violence and only two deaths, one of them a suicide. Sure, the Devil was awfully gross with the puking and the 360-degree headturn and the cross-up-the-snatch, but no one in "The Exorcist" was decapitated by a maniac in a hockey mask with a machete, nor did it feature any of the mindless, gratuitous violence that has permeated so-called "horror" films since 1978's "Halloween."

I mentioned it in my post about the Creature from the Black Lagoon, but the greatest ape needs his own subject line.

27. Tip on writing polls (too late to edit this one, but still)
You can't put double quotation marks in a response; if you want to put in a title (and the quotation marks matter to you), just put single quotation marks (eg, 'Night of the Living Dead')
