Windows question. I need a utility for the machines at Dem Hdqtrs
On the Mac and other UNIX based machines you can have virtual desktops, it makes life much simpler for me. I have 10-15 windows open at a time, and I noticed that is the same situation at the party headquarters(local headquarters). We have several different people using one machine, it would be nice to be able to go to another desktop and not disturb what was left on the machine by another user.

I need something free. I have tried finding free software for windows on
http://versiontracker.com but there isn't much freeware, and too many of them say they are freeware, but they are not.

I may not be using the correct search terms.

Any help would be appreciated.

Using Windows makes me appreciate UNIX based machines.
Windows is still butt ugly.

1. windows XP offers "fast user switching"
is that what you mean? where one person could log off, another could log on, all without reboots?

If so XP already supports it. I've never used it though so you'd need to hit the help file to set it up.

2. Simple. Just go ask the local GOP office what they installed
to read what is on your machines.

that should help.

4. Are you using XP?
Just set up separate accounts for each user.

If you just want virtual desktops, then download and install the Virtual Desktop Manager from the evil empire.

If you have Win 98 there's a shareware program for 5.99 Euros.

5. Virtual Desktop manager looks good, and is what I am looking for but
it costs $24.95. I navigated to the site and found the awful truth. The MS site didn't say it was payware.

Here's what I use.
