Is The New Republic worth a $30 yearly subscription?
I have never read the magazine, due to the fact that no book stores around me carry it. I would really like an in depth political magazine, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

2. I'd get "The Nation" over the New Republic

Personally, I think the New Republic has sort of gone the other way. They try to pander to the right to make themselves seem more fair and unbiased. A bit like the way NPR has been going. I think The Nation is more of a left wing magazine which is more in line with my political leaning. By a few issues of each and make up your own mind.

Check out Mother Jones as well. They have a deal right nhow that pretty afffordble. something like $10 a year.

3. You can read what you can read online for free
and see if you like the publication generally

4. what are your political leanings?

I think it is pure inside the beltway "centrist" elitist crap. Israel can do no wrong in the eyes of this magazine and Andrew Sullivan used to be the editor.:puke: I sometimes read TNR website but I wouldnt pay for it.

If you lean towards DLC type beliefs this is the magazine for you.
