Bear says "hello" from the Colorado River
I've been taking myself out on Saturdays, floating the Colorado. This is from last weekend - I went this past weekend also, but the light was weird and I haven't yet figured out this damned digital camera.

Still getting accustomed to going alone.

1. Beautiful scenery
I'm from Ohio, but I used to do a lot of traveling around the country as a long haul trucker. The west was my favorite place to go because of the country. And it was strange when I would tell someone native to that area about how much I loved the country. To most of the people I met out that way it wasn't a big deal to them. I actually met a few who couldn't wait to get out of where they lived and move to a big city. I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Have fun out there on your excursions. Do you take a fishing pole along with you?

3. Thanks droopy
I don't fish. Most weekends, I'm the only boat out there not dropping a line for trout.

No, I just go out there for the float, fresh air, a few rapids and quiet.

8. I live in Colorado--can you be more precise?
Is it near the ski areas? Is it around the Indian Springs resort?

12. It's called the "Pumphoue Run"
It runs essentially from southwest of Kremmling to State Bridge.

It's about 50 miles north of the Summit County ski areas (A-Basin, Keystone, etc), and probably 50 miles due south of Steamboat Springs.

Hi Lisa, hi Johnnie.

I used to work at a fish hatchery on the Colorado, below Hoover Dam. Really do miss the scenery...
