Mr Show coming to TBS on Friday nights!
Edited on Sun Sep-19-04 09:44 PM by Mojambo
I kinda have mixed feelings about this for a few reasons.

A. Editing for language/content will be extreme. Can you imagine TBS airing "the Altered State of Druggachusetts?" I can't.
B. Commercial breaks are going to kill the rhythm of the show.
C. 90 percent of the TBS audience is NOT going to get this show.

Still, I'm SO excited to see it back on the air!

1. It's a college favorite!
Everyone with even a passing interest in sketch comedy should own the DVDs. I don't watch TV anymore, so the whole TBS thing won't affect me, but I'm a bit shocked at the news....

2. that sucks!
They're going to destroy that show! It was so amazing, but there's no way they are going to be able to preserve the flow or even keep most of the content.

However, I'm hoping it brings back attention to the show so that HBO may pick it up again, *i hope*

3. LOL - no "The Altered States of Druggachusetts" won't be on it
I can't imagine them showing that! Kind of like them running "Sex and the City" - how much will they have to cut? :D

But I agree, I too am thrilled to see it back on!!! :bounce:

5. Well, David is pretty busy lately
with his stand-up and "Arrested Development"

Bob O. was guest-starring on AE last year and there was a rumor that he would be joining the cast.

It would be awesome to see them both on the same show again.

7. I'm very surprised
I could see Spike TV running it, but TBS?

Maybe it's a ploy to get people to buy the DVDs. Oh well. Any Mr. Show is better than none.

8. I was thinking Spike TV as well
or maybe even Bravo, but TBS???

A network airing Home Improvement and Everybody Loves Raymond??

Strange stuff.

9. My favorite Mr. Show skit...
was the one where they had the televangelists on it, except instead of whoring for Jesus, they were Satanists...OMFG I could barely breathe after that one, I was laughing so hard!!!

10. are you sure it will be edited?
being on tbs, which is a cable station, they can air whatever they want. if it's on late at night maybe they won't edit anything out.

11. Thats true...
Comedy Central can air the South Park movie unedited if they put it on after a certain hour...Certainly Mr. Show is no worse than that one.
