I cannot confirm it as true, so...

There are stretches of Germany with heavy fog banks. Also, the Autobahn was designed to carry heavy vehicles (tanks), and does.

So picture, an American convoy of M2 Bradley armored personnel carriers, driving in a fog bank at about 20mph when the last one in line is struck by a Porshe 911 doing 120mph...

The crew of the M2 stop the vehicle, wondering what the hell was that.
The infantry inside the M2 thinks they've been hit, and try to bail out the rear door, but it's blocked by something.
Investigation shows that the door is blocked by the Porshe's engine.
And yes, Porshe's are rear engined cars.

The M2 has some scratches in the paint.
The crew and infantry have had a good scare.
The Porshe was wreckage.
The Porshe driver could be buried in a bucket.
