Most of us know and love the south Alabama character "Trof." "The-retired-old-fucker" is from Foley (I think). That was the dirty side of Ivan. As we say in ham radio: CQ, CQ, CQ, Butch.

Trof is a retired Boeing 747 captain and an old guard guy from the Alabama Air National Guard. TROF acuatually showed up and flew his required missions. Although TROF was in the B'Ham sister unit, I never heard him say he ever saw GWB at any Alabama drill.

I have a friend there who's a woman of "a certain age". I couldn't resist asking her to canvass her friends for gossip about the antics of the "Texas Souffle", just in case.

If they did, (and I hope they did!), they might not be able to get to their house yet. The people on the news said it could take as long as a week for some folks.

I do hope they're ok...

Glad to hear the Trofs are okay. I just heard from my pal in Calhoun County -- she's been letting her friends in harder-hit areas come over to her place for showers etc. -- her parents in the southwestern part of the state lost power, but made breakfast the next morning on their gas grill.
