Worst football announcer?

I'd have to say it's a tie between John Madden and Al Michaels.

John has a habit of saying "duh" phrases, like: "In order to score points, you have to throw touchdowns." That gets very annoying.

I do not like Al Michaels just for the fact that he said some pretty crappy things on MNF a couple of weeks ago. Here is what he said:

MADDEN: It’s what you call a flip-flop!

MICHAELS: You’re in the right state for that!

The game took place in Foxboro, Massachusetts. I think you can figure out what he was referring to. :grr: :grr: :grr:

1. Al Michaels

I am proud to say I thought that BEFORE knowing about his GOP whoring, which he was doing even before Dennis Miller came along. But for many years, Michaels has proven to be an egomaniacal jerkwad. Pompous and overblown.

2. Well, despite that comment, Michaels is a great announcer period

Has a great voice & more importantly, great knowledge of whatever game his is broadcasting.

On balance, he blows Vijay Singh's "putter" because of his overbearing ego. His voice is too cheesy anyway.

I think he was decent years ago, but his time has passed him by.

Joe Theismanns sounds like a complete idiot. Not a fan of Dan Dierdorf either.

In fact, I can't think of too many football announcers that I like.

8. Politically, Michaels

But, for shear incompetence, Fox takes the cake, at least last year. I tried watching a game Fox was broadcasting (college) and I couldn't manage to watch. They actually managed to make an exciting game boring. Poor play-by-play, awful color commentary, unprofessional camera work - worst... coverage... ever.

I enjoy monday night football but god I can't stand Michaels, his stupid shit he did with Kerry, I bet he was real glad to have Rush on the team and was sad to see him leave.
