It's good to be back on DU!!
After two days without power after the flooding the Pittsburgh area received from the remnants of Hurricane Ivan, I'm back, baby! Thank God our house is on high enough ground that we had no flooding, but the people in the condos below us were evacuated Friday night. I went to a friend's house across the Allegheny River last night and spent the night there, so at least I was able to get some studying done because their power never went out. When I returned to home sweet home today at 12:15 p.m. my power was back on. WOOHOOOOOOO!!!!

How are other Pittsburgh area DUers doing??

2. Thanks!
I'm just happy to have my electricity back and even happier that we had no flooding whatsoever in our house (which would have been devastating in light of the recent controversy over replacing our roof for the buyers). I felt guilty watching the poor souls being evacuated Friday night as it poured; people would ask me if I minded them parking in my driveway. OF COURSE NOT! That was the least I could do. One guy asked to use my phone because his cell phone had died; he couldn't find his wife. He's also diabetic, and the police did let him go into his house to get his medication. He said the water just came gushing out and his furniture was floating. I hope he was able to locate his wife; I know I'd be panicking if my loved ones hadn't returned home in the middle of a raging storm.
