Two questions for ipod owners

I've been through 2 Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtras! They keep breaking on me, so i'm thinking about buying an ipod. I would like to know:

How long is your battery life?

Can you play low bitrate files without a problem?

What a shock, LithiumIon batteries have a limited lifetime. There is also plenty of anecdotal evidence supporting iPod batteries lasting much longer than 18 months.

4. I've had my iPod for two years now and love

it.

Regarding Air America archives...I download the Al Franken show everynight. When I first started downloading it, I d/l'd the low bitrate version but now opt for the higher quality version...after all he DOES play the Dead as bumper music and I want to hear each and every sweet note.
