In reality, I've only ever had two people on ignore, and one of 'em got his slab o'granite -- I don't think he was a freeper or anything, but he was very obnoxious and disruptive, and you'd have to be pretty damn obnoxious for ME to put you on ignore, as obnoxiousness is a trait I generally admire.

The other one, the one who's still here, I won't name, as that would be the height of rudeness, but rest assured, MrScorpio, 'tis not you. ;)

3. I've only ever put two people on my ignore list....

One was a long-time poster who evidently wore the mods patience out shortly afterward-- I think he was tombstoned the same night. The other still posts irregularly-- I see very occasional ignored posts.

Nothing? Are certain numbers of the posts missing - no #4 or 23 posts so they must have been on my ignore list?

20. Nahh, I wouldn't want to miss anything you say. There was only

one person I considered using it on but I didn't.

I posted something rather benign and critical of Shrub and Co and out of no where this guy comes and whacks me over the head and starts insulting my intelligence and education, etc.

It was like, since when can we not make a flip remark against Chimpy. He thought my analogy was historically inaccurate.

I wasn't writing a friggin term paper, I was making a joke. When I said that he kept harping and had to have the last word. He seemed to have a big History fixation.

Blood pressure definitely rose and wondered why I come here but it hasn't happened again. (Although when I see his posts I still think he is an asshole)

16. it's not worth the effort to IGNORE freepers....

They usually get tombstoned quickly-- I tend to think of the ignore function as a means of keeping my blood pressure safe from assault by regular posters who get under my skin. But having said that, I've only ever used it twice-- I'm pretty thick skinned.

they usually wear out their welcome in less than 50 posts anyway.

And no one really annoys me that much...only Yankee fans as we head toward October. I may agree with them politically but they become like Freepers in the lounge. }(

I mistakenly pushed the thing on someone when I was first checking to see how it worked and then the ignore thing came up on this person who I had no problem with at all. DO you knowhow to undo that on a specific person?

On edit--from the "Options" menu at the top of the screen. Click on "Ignore List" and you can check the box next to the person(s) you wish to "unignore".

to any of them.
When I go to options and ignore, would I see something next their name to let me know they are gone or what?

I use it when I find myself getting into too much angst. It is just easier to put them on ignore than to have my post deleted.

They usally get others posts deleted while they merrily go along and aggravate a lot of people. It is cruel to see that they stay and the others get deleted. So I ignore them.

It is just easier to keep myself out of their way.
