Is Lexx worth the effort?

I started watching this show when I had cable, somehow got hooked by its sheer bizarreness...I don't think I've ever seen such a bleak yet funny show in my lifetime...the last season's episodes took place on near to present day earth and I thought they were (at times) brilliant satire on the state of contemporary values...Yet the nonchalant attitude towards the death of untold billions we see and don't see left me with an ambivalent attitude towards this series. (But don't get me wrong I certainly enjoyed it) I'm just interested if anybody knows or cares to comment about this show...

We used to watch Farscape and Lexx back to back whilst high.
