Sky Captain and The WOT (no spoilers!!!)
Wow!!!

I do compositing and animation for a living and I've never seen anything like this!!! For all G. Lucas has done for digital film making, he's got NOTHING on this movie!!!

It has it's flaws, but... THIS IS A POPCORN MOVIE that has a completely NEW look!!! Really a blast!!!

GO see this movie. If you don't like it, you don't like movies!

2. I thought it looked cool
but I thought the plot looked kinda boring, like I've seen it a million times before. But, I'm thinking about going to see it just because I want to see wha the whole thing loks like.

25. you HAVE seen it a million times before ...
The same scenario's already shown up in countless 1920s radio plays, 1930s movie adventure serials, 1950s B-grade sci-fi flicks, and half a century of TV -- complete with the same plot holes.

But the visuals are pretty neat.

4. I saw a couple of interviews with the stars
on the morning shows and apparently the only thing that's real are the actors. Every thing else seems to be CGI.

9. I understand not finding her attractive
But why do you dislike her? Is she a bad person or something? Shit, don't tell me she's a repuke and I didn't know it. I don't think I could handle that.

10. o, no, nothing like that
i dunno, her acting just seems kind of...uninspired, you know? im not anything approaching an acting expert, but she seems to rely too much on aloofness in her parts. just a personal thing . ive been lucky on all my celeb obsessions, lol...no repukes yet, though i came dangerously close with patricia heaton, before i heard she was repuke

13. Whew
Thanks. Personal reasons are fine with me. We all have our own tastes, but if it was because she was a raving repuke, I'd wanna know. She adopted that kid from Cambodia (or wherever) too, and I think that gives her a few extra points on my "good heart" scale.

I was a little concerned about my obsession with Gwen Stefani of the band No Doubt too, since they're an Orange County product. I wasn't sure if Dems were alowed to come from OC. I was very relieved when they released one of their songs for the "Rock Against Bush V.II" album this summer.

15. my obsessions
are currently jena malone (who im pretty sure is not a repuke, due to her appearance in Saved!) and maynard keenan (in a musical way), who is releasing that anti-bush cd with a perfect circle on nov 2

and would you happen to know what the hell is up with Neil Young? i've heard several places that he supports shrub :wtf:

18. Neil Young had Post-9/11 Syndrome
He was badly shaken and, horrifyingly, even wrote a freeptastic sentimental revenge song ("Let's Roll", from Are You Passionate?).

In a way, this wasn't really a shock, because-as his fans will tell you-Neil Young is a volatile and mercurial man. Thank God he's gotten his wig straight again recently, though.

that whole thing with BB Thornton and the tattoos/vials of eachother's blood was really, really flaky, but she's hot!

7. Amazingly new presentation of a thirties era story
It's just like an old BlackHawk comic. Mysterious women, giant robots, evil masterminds, plots against the whole world

And a couple of running jokes, one of which gets a classic treatment with the very last line of dialogue. Corny as it was it drew loud laughs from all over the theater where I saw it.

It was great to see Jude Law, Gwenneth Paltrow and the inimitable Angelina but just about anyone could have played their parts just as well. The story and the motif was what made the movie amazing and memorable.

Haven't seen anything like this since that H.G.Wells movie that I can't remember the name of.

Just great.

Took my daughter. We thought it was really cool. Mmmmmm Angelina. Thanks for the recommendation. I didn't have anything better to do. My wife is a college football fanatic, and I can't stand it. For me, football is played on Sundays.

For those who haven't seen it yet, imagine the imagery of Metropolis crossed with the old matinee serials. Now square that.
