Poll question: WHAT IS YOUR MARITAL STATUS?
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 05:32 PM by NightTrain
Just curious as to how many of my fellow DUers have tied the knot. Personally, I'm 38 and a lifelong bachelor. But who knows, that could change someday!

32. Yep.
That's been my experience. People can't deal. Sometimes, I almost feel pressured to act like I'm upset about being single, just so people won't freak. :)

42. I know what you mean, In some ways
I think they actually resent our freedom (not all marrieds, but many, especially if they are unhappily married.)

Everyone is always trying to fix me up, they seem incapable of understanding that I could actually be happy this way. Especially if you are female - then you are really considered a freak. I could easily be coupled if I wanted to, I have no shortage of offers, but unless I connect with someone on a deeper level (mind, body, spirit) I am just not interested.

I don't want my own children, although I love my neices and nephews dearly, so there is no pressing need for me. However, I won't cave to societal pressure. I don't know if I ever want to be married, and I will be in a relationship only when I find someone that I really WANT to be with, not because I want to save myself from being lonely. :)

33. Separated I suppose for the most part.
Which doesn't entirely fit because we'll be under the same roof for about 4 or 5 more months, but we have the beginnings of paperwork required to end it and plan on getting it started in the next week or two. Definitely fall well into the unhappily married catagory.
