The Yankee curse of 2001 continues...

!!! 2001 2001 2001 2001 !!!

Spankme fans booohooed that they deserved to win the WS in 2001, because of SEP-11, and because of that they won't win another WS until half the teams win 27 WS also, with the other half winning more - led by the Red Sox who will have won twice as many by then...

MUWahahahahahahahahahaha

!!! 2001 2001 2001 2001 !!!

1. Easy does it
Shrooms are no basis for predicting the WS cycles for the various teams or a curse on the great Yankees.

Williams out of Yankees' starting lineup
By HOWIE RUMBERG, AP Sports Writer
September 18, 2004

FROM: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-yankees-williams&prov=ap&type=lgns
NEW YORK (AP) -- Bernie Williams arrived at Yankee Stadium on Friday ready for yet another big game, preparing to play as he has for 14 seasons. The only problem: he wasn't in New York's lineup against the Boston Red Sox. ``I went to (manager Joe Torre's) office and he told me. I didn't see the lineup -- that's why I was late for (pregame) stretch,'' Williams said. ``He said I'll be playing tomorrow.''

Along with Derek Jeter, Williams is the only position player on the Yankees' roster that has been a part of all four World Series championship teams since 1996. And Williams couldn't remember ever being out of the starting lineup -- except for injury -- against Boston.

``Probably back in '91; it was another team,'' Williams said of his first season with the Yankees, a fifth-place finish in the AL East.

While Williams was 3-for-14 on the recent road trip and has struggled much of the season, the move was made to get Jason Giambi into the batting order. ``(Williams) understands the situation,'' Torre said. ``We have Jason, we have long-range plans.''
