6 am. Wind still howls up the gorge. Many trees down.
I elected to go to bed when the electricity went off at 9:25 last night. It was a long night. The dogs are totally freaked. I just surveyed the damage with a flashlight from the deck. Numerous trees were snapped at about 15-20 feet. Must have been a tornado.
I have the generator on now and I have phone and DSL. Cleanup starts when the wind dies down.
3. My grandmother lived for many years in Black Mountain,
which is not far from you. I always believed that the mountains would protect her, that the danger was on the East Coast. I am sorry that you are having to go through this, and also sorry for your dogs. I have two and they freak if the doorbell rings. Good luck and let us know how you're doing. Hang in there!:grouphug:
