Why do people hate Green Day?
I'm 40 years old, and I have seen a few come and go. I think these guys (showing now on MTV2) are pretty good.

3. i love Green Day
they're my second favorite band. (first being the Ramones) The reason so many people hate them is because a lot of people like to think they're too hardcore to listen to pop-punk. personally, i think they're full of shit. they're no better than the whiny, yuppie, emo kids who listen to Good Charlotte and complain about how no one understands them. i think Green Day's one of the greatest punk bands of my generation.

on edit: it's entirely cheesy, but that's the point! it's all about being a poseur and adopting/exploiting what's trendy.
