MatcomNews UPDATE: Man Who Fears Witches Says Story Made Him Sound Nutty
<snip>

WILKES-BARRE - A man who spoke about his fear of witches says he's concerned his comments will prompt the county's child-welfare agency to conduct an unwarranted investigation of his family.
Jake Jenkins said a story in Wednesday's Times Leader made him sound "like I'm crazy." He didn't deny talking to a reporter about what he believes is his battle against evil, but he said he thought his name wouldn't be used and that he could give a "generic story about the witches out there."

"Now I'm going to be under investigation because the story makes me sound like a lunatic."

Despite that concern, Jenkins on Thursday reiterated some of the comments he made the day before. He spoke about his concern over "deep-down Satan worshipers."

Jenkins, 51, on Wednesday talked about unnamed witches he said are after him and his family. He told of how he keeps his family, which includes his wife and eight children, ages 22 to 1, mostly in the house.

The house has been fortified with bars and beams. To ward off the witches, he has adorned a tree stump in his front yard with wooden stakes, some of which point to where witches live in the neighborhood, he said.

On Thursday, he said he felt his efforts to keep witches away "are working." His primary concern now, he said, is how his comments are viewed by school and child-welfare officials.

Gene Caprio, executive director of Luzerne County Children and Youth, said the agency generally only investigates a family if it gets a complaint. As of Thursday afternoon, no one had asked the agency to investigate Jenkins, he said.

6. Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck...
Must be a duck, right? What does it mean that he's "...fortified with bars and beams." Has he blocked exits and windows so the family can't get out if there's a fire?

7. He's afraid that he SOUNDS nutty?
He sticks wooden stakes into a tree stump in the belief that this will protect him from witches, tells a reporter about it, and is now afraid that he may have sounded nutty.

First of all, sticking wooden stakes into a tree stump for this purpose makes him look nutty - so why should he be concerned with sounding nutty. Second, why should I as a witch be afraid of a staked tree stump? Third, I would think that sharp pointy things sticking out of a tree stump would not be high on the list of things safe for young things or indeed anything living that may be in the area.

He should read the Demonbuster.com website. It's full of fruitloops just like him. http://www.demonbuster.com

If you want a good laugh check this one out. It is one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. I strongly suggest muting your speakers before going to the site - there is a bloody horrible midi that plays at full volume. These folks are very egalitarian... they hate everyone equally. Including other Christian sects. They really don't like the JW's. Despite the disclaimer in large letters that says they don't hate anyone. They'd be disturbing if it weren't for the fact that they make the tinfoil beanie types look 'normal'.

Basically, they think demons inhabit everything and everyone but them, and they have to be constantly vigilant for demon attack. They suggest removing all possible demon entry points from your house, such as dolls, statues, artwork, candles, televisions, radios, stereos, computers... There's a comment somewhere in there about how Pokemon are actual demons who are out to get your kids.

It's really hard to take people like this seriously. This is the kind of thing that makes me wish for Rapture to happen so the fruitcakes like this will be gone and the rest of us can happily get on with our lives.

10. this was my favorite comment
CAUTION: A few people have reported that while reading portions of our Deliverance material, some demons have manifested in them in various ways. If this happens, pray this: "FATHER, IN THE NAME OF JESUS, I COMMAND ALL THE DEMONS ATTACKING ME TO LEAVE ME NOW, IN THE NAME OF JESUS."

LOL... sheesh... Just get a popup blocker for crying out loud

11. Those sumbitches are CRAZY!
"In the name of JESUS, I cover myself and the one reading this with the Blood of JESUS. I ask for giant warrior angels to protect us. As your war club and weapons of war I break down, undam, and blow up all walls of protection around all witches, warlocks, wizards, satanists, sorcerers, and the like, and I break the power of all curses, hexes, vexes, spells, charms, fetishes, psychic prayers, psychic thoughts, all Witchcraft, sorcery, magic, voodoo, all mind control, jinxes, potions, bewitchments, death, destruction, sickness, pain, torment, psychic power, psychic warfare, prayer chains, incense and candle burning, incantations, chanting, blessings, hoodoo, crystals, root works, and everything else being sent my way, or my family member's way, or any Deliverance Ministries way, and I return it, and the demons to the sender, SEVENFOLD, and I bind it to them by the Blood of Jesus, and I cut and burn their ungodly silver cord and lay lines , in JESUS' Name."

Holy crap! Giant warrior angels?

Did they use a Thesaurus for the 'curses, hexes, vexes' part, do you think?

Aren't 'lay lines' some kind of new age thing?

That site is NUTS!

16. Well -
did you folks succumb and listen to the midi anyway?

I'd swear that section sounds suspiciously like one of the sections in the 'Lesser Key of Solomon' (speaking of fruitloop sources) with appropriate changes to the deity name. I'd call that a spell. Well, guess I'll just have to send their attack on my protections back on them NINEFOLD. That should keep them busy. I figure that their Giant Warrior Angels and my Elementals will probably get together and have a good laugh about the silly humans. So they aren't likely to be any help whatsoever. What the hell were these folks doing reading the 'Lesser Key' anyway?

I had the same thought about the Thesaurus.

Did you get the little thing that follows the cursor around? Annoying isn't it.

18. All home schooled as well.
How's that for a scary thought. No outside views presented to these children in the education process. There's the future of our country folks.

My brother and his wife have raised and home schooled their four kids to "keep them from being exposed to non-Christian teachings". Fortunately my brother is a believer in Darwin - he even has a Darwin fish next to his Jesus fish. Academically, I was surprised to discover that the kids are doing exceptionally well. They consistently test higher than most conventional school kids of the same age groups. They weren't/aren't allowed to watch tv. Videos are chosen by their parents. Their socialization has been limited to church and arts classes through their church. This concerns me. Exposure to other views and belief systems is good. One needs to learn these things to learn tolerance. I live a couple of thousands of miles away - I've had little contact with their lives. I've had a tacit agreement with my sister-in-law that I wouldn't bring up the subject of my spiritual belief system with the kids. To them I've always been the eccentric auntie who is in the arts. Although... my nephew's girlfriend saw the small pentacle I wear and I could tell she knew what it was... I have a feeling that my nephew now knows that auntie is a witch. That should mean the big secret is out. I was noticing little glimmers of rebellion in my nieces. There might be hope but I'm not counting on it. Both of the older kids are of voting age... I have a feeling that I'm not going to like their voting choices. I'll see them before the election when I'm back visiting - that topic isn't verboten so I'm planning to have a little chat with them. They're old enough to start dealing with the idea that even family members can have opposing views. I don't expect to change their minds but I do intend to make sure that they think. Faith should not preclude rational thought. It will probably piss my sister-in-law off but everything about me does that so no difference there. Fortunately my brother is cool and has probably been expecting it for some time now.

14. Hmmm....
This guy IS a lunatic. Witches normally believe in Wiccan practices. Satanists follow the devil, which is a Christian construct. Many Satanists are actually peaceful people, believing that Satan was cast out simply for disagreeing with his brother. But true "witches" aren't involved with Satan or any other devil worshippers any more than your average atheist.

Sounds like he IS a loonytoons, and I think someone SHOULD investigate him.

15. even if he didn't know that about Wicca he would be loony tunes
Your family is not going to fall victim to magic spells no matter who your neighbors are.

You are in a lot more danger from drunk drivers than from violent satanic cultists.
