The "MTV" crowd is just lost
I'm so sick of hearing people that say they can't stand bush, and they care about issues... the environment, war, education... but they aren't voting for Kerry, because of (insert garden variety dumbass reason here), and it's THEIR vote, and there's no way I can convince them that the only way to get rid of bush is to vote for kerry, so they call me a nazi for trying to convince them to vote for him...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

SHOOT ME NOW!

1. A lot of young people are voting for Kerry
He has a huge lead over Bush among voters 18-30.

4. It's hard to imagine anyone of draft age voting for the shrub.
Unless they have some inside track for deferments.
:puke:

10. No they don't want to vote for bush
They just don't want to vote for Kerry, either. It's not sinking in that if they don't vote for Kerry, they may as well vote for bush.

They think write in votes or not voting is a good way to 'send a message'.

9. sigh that really sucks
Hey you know me, I was a big supporter of Kucinich and I had Kerry at number 2 for ages. Did I mention how big of an honor it will be to canvass for him and somewhere down the road be able to say to my grandchildren, we didn't have to fight a war like our grandparents did or a great depression but we had our call of duty, and mine was to put the man in my opinion the bset man we've ran for president since Kennedy for the job, yes I believe that, and getting George W Bush out of the white house was my finest hour. Kerry and I don't agree on everything naturally, but I like him a ton of course and am even more prompt to defend him after I hear the crap in political science, thats why I got so pissed when people would be so purist of Kerry before Boston, happy to say, it's stopped, and Kerry is in the homestrench, and he will turn Virginia blue with the dedication of hard working people.

13. They do
Edited on Fri Sep-17-04 04:50 PM by JohnKleeb
That's why we're doing a registration drive, why many of them while I am up in Harrisburg tommorow will be at the DNC in DC doing stuff, and on back to school night will be handing out stuff. I just can't believe because of one single issue someone couldnt vote for Kerry, its like using one vote to determine a guy's worth, and its why I defended Kerry so vigorously in the primaries, a history of votes not one vote is what should damn a man, and Kerry's history well lemme tell you something, I think it makes him one of the better senators we got, I'd be honored to have him as a senator and president. Oh and another thing, I dont like a lot of MTV because its not really MTV heh, I dont like some of their shows, now I have to admit celeb death match is a guilty passion and I loved watching Beavis and Butthead as a little kid.

14. Calm down!
Just like that latest Gallup poll asked too many Republicans to come anywhere close to being accurate,
you cannot base your sample poll on a small percentage.
I have personally seen and talked to so many "kids" 18-24 that are unified and eager to get Bush out.
All of them-EVERY SINGLE ONE- did not give a crap about politics 4 years ago and have registered to vote this year.
Please calm down, keep your eye on the ball and keep working!

This meltdown is only result of talking to them myself.

And depressed or not, there's no choice but to keep working. :)

20. I have to wonder how many of them have a subconscious death wish
Seriously. Hell, maybe even conscious in a few cases. Not necessarily a suicidal death wish, though. I'm willing to bet some of them have fantasies of a destroyed nation/world where everyone suddenly and miraculously believes the exact same things they do (the "things have to become very desperate before things actually improve" idea).

Maybe one day they'll realize just how insane and destructive that idea is.
