What's Your Favorite Traveling Tune?
On the heels of the post asking what your favorite sing-along song is, I wonder this: Which tune do you need cranked up at full-blast when you're in the car?

For me, right now, it's Carly Simon's "You're So Vain." By the time it's over it's on so loud I think it can be heard in the next county over, even with the windows rolled up.

1. Blue Oyster Cult, "This Ain't the Summer of Love"
I'm also really fond of driving along to Dead Kennedys, although it does tend to encourage me to ignore posted speed limits...

7. I was treated to an unbelievable lightning show on I-80 in Nebraska..
once while listening to that song.

It was nightime and we were in a rented Taurus going from Denver to Chicago doing about 80 at the time.

I'd have to agree with you.

8. The Orb - "Little Fluffy Clouds"
from the "Live '93" disc. Pure class, especially when you float down into the Okanagon in the dawn after a crazed night of driving through the Rockies.

10. Personally I think "Outlands" from "Live '93" is better...
but that's a good choice.

11. Well if I had to choose a fvaorite form that album
it would be Tower of Dub...

but for travelling, it's Little Fluffy Clouds, mostly for nostalgic reasons that involve illicit drugs and the Okanagon valley as previously stated. :)

9. Two: Travelin' Light (Widespread Panic) and Mississippi Half-Step
I once listed to the MHS while traveling cross-country in my old VW Westy. Exactly at the point I was crossing the Rio Grande, on comes Jerry, "a----cross the Rio-Grand--i--o. Acro-----sss the lazy river."

Ahh, good times.

They invented cruise control for that song. (I know, i just made that up, but i'm sticking to it.)

That song makes me want to drive fast, and i always drive just BELOW the speed limit.

Good song to sing to, and just bob one's head to the beat while highwaying.

20. I like current pop hits when I'm driving
recently it's been "Hey Ya" - Outkast

a couple years ago it was "Drops of Jupiter" - Train

in 1997 it was "Mmmmbop" - Hanson (I don't like to admit that one.)
