I'm feeling dejected. I had it out with a co-worker over politics. We went back and forth on a bunch of issues. I brought up how the world hates Bush, and if we don't get rid of him... they will hate us too. She said:

"That's why we need Mr.Bush in control, so we can send a big fuck you to the world! We're Americans, and we will do whatever the fuck we want! Fuck them all! We don't need them, if they get out of line we'll just nuke'em!"

I didn't say much after that. There is no possible way to talk logic with that kind of mindset...

like after 9/11, Bush and the Republicans made Americans feel safe to hate again. The hate in this country was still around, but it was hidden in policies. Now, some people think it's OK to be open about that hate because of 9/11, and the Bush adminstration is running away with that. It's sad because it seems that we haven't learned FROM history and we're following those same mistakes that we made in the 1700 and 1800's.

that was one of the main reasons I decided to move to NYC...

They knew I was 1. Not born/from the U.S.; 2. Proud of where I'm from, and 3. Proud to be a liberal. Yet, they enjoyed taunting me with their "You (insert country) suck! We rule" crap and Bush I/Gingrich/Christian Coalition (insert token Rethuglican du jour) are gods...
