What TV Mom/Dad would you like to have been your mom/dad...
I'll say Dr. Huxtable and Mrs. Partridge.

Good times...

20. sorry...
my anti-celeb bias got hold of me. i am relaxed, though. i had just read the best-celeb-to-be-president thread and was thinking along the lines of joe namath selling panty hose. i know it's the lounge, and not meant to be serious, but i hate the near-worship of entertainers that is so prevalent in the world.

19. I dunno
I never really cared for most "family" sitcomes growing up. Maybe Dobie Gillis's dad, who I adored, Herbert T. Gillis, played by Frank Faylen, or Uncle Bill, from Family Affair, or I suppose I would have tolerated Ozzie and Harriet, or some other such. I grew up in the late 50s and early 60s, so there was more adventure, more action shows, more drama than sitcoms--at least what I watched. I wasn't into wackiness, so I probably wouldn't have been able to deal with Herman Munster, the Clampetts or the Addams Family, but I certainly would never have put up with Donna Reed, the Cleaver clan or Robert Young, either. Danny Thomas had a family show at one point that was a little more fun, but I don't recall a huge amount about them.

21. Ozzie and Harriet Nelson
Ozzie ALWAYS had his wallet out for his kids...

And they seemed like very kind and stable people.

A thread a newbie can feel at home in.
