11. Radiohead: the ultimate sacred cow.
It's like putting down the Beastie Boys: "hogpile on the infidel!"

21. No, I didn't like them when they were UNpopular, either.
Just don't see what the big deal is. I mean, we already had ONE Pink Floyd, who needs another one?

by death... but since I agree with your subjective post, I'll let it slide. :hi:

12. No no no ...
All the pixies albums are great, as are the first two Frank Black albums. Their most uneven, IMHO, are Bossa Nova and Trompe Le Monde, but even those albums were excellent.

Singer that sounds like Colin Blunstone trying to do Damo Suzuki, band that's draggy with a monotonic 'beautiful despair' mood throughout. :puke:

And by 'I hate x', of course, we mean 'I have a mild dislike towards x which has been radicalized by the disproportionate amount of hype and praise heaped on top of them'. Objectively as a band, they're quite good compared to the rest of the stuff out there. In that sense I also hate Yo La Tengo and Wilco.

10. Yo La Tengo blows.
They blew back when they were unpopular, too. The worst result of what happens when we allow record collectors to form bands.

Actually, Radiohead has ONE GREAT SONG: "Electioneering." I love that song. An actual rock song that rocks, with balls. Everything else is glacial diarrhea.

Or is it really cold?

Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 04:54 PM by Hardhead
Johnny Rotten was a precocious little bitch whose entire stage presence - nay! his entire career! - consisted of "look how naughty I am!"

And I don't even like Megadeath.

26. Amen!
Actually, Pablo Honey is a pretty good album and The Bends is half-decent as well. What happened next I'm not sure... suddenly they became critics' heroes and rock megastars and I stopped liking anything by them. And I'm not someone who just likes to slay sacred cows... The Beatles are still my all-time favorite group, so how could I be? But anyway, this is just my take, opinions are subjective, taste is taste, etc.

29. Good for you. Though I find them quite enjoyable, myself.
I thought they were boring as hell when "Creep" got popular, but grew to love them when The Bends came out. I'll admit, though, everything after OK Computer is indeed overrated. Radiohead hatred is not really unique.

As far as critically acclaimed bands that I could very comfortably without ever hearing about again goes: The Strokes. Just plain boring shit.
