1. It changes from night to night.
Sometimes it's east, sometimes it's west...It's never North or South.

2. North is supposed to be best
In the Northern Hemisphere. South is OK. Never East or West. North-South keeps your body aligned with the Earth's magnetic poles--supposedly best for well-being. Or so I've heard....

11. That's what my mother told me when I was little
But I think it's just one of those early 20th century bits of pseudo-scientific folklore, like chewing every bite 100 times.

I slept with my head to the north when I was a little kid, and then again for a while in the late-80's/early 90's, and I can't say it ever made any difference to anything.

3. Hi Rowdyboy
I'm facing east because I sleep on my left side nightly, it's my routine hugging my pillows....
I'm a big pillow person...two for my head, one to hug and the other between my knees and than I can sleep!:hi:

7. I slept on a couch for about ten years
At my parent's house, my college dorm, my apartments -- a couch was all I had. I'm a big guy, so the only way I could fit was by hunking one leg and arm up on the back of the couch. During this ten year interval, I lived in my truck for about six months, and even then I managed to put my leg up on the wheelwell.

Today, although I have a big bed, I still have to have many pillows in order to simulate the couch feeling, otherwise I just can't sleep. I've got two for my head, two for my arms, and three for my knees. It must have been hell on my girlfriends since...

Oh, and in the current home, I face East, since it's away from the window and light.

I think it is east...wait...where is the mall? Hmmmmm. I think IT IS east...NO...I just asked my boyfriend. He said our head is facing North...NO, wait. He just came in...again...our head is facing east.

So, I (female) was right. I thought guys have that S N W E thingy pinned down?

I guess in the end, I gave the right answer: EAST

How about not asking such difficult questions after we just found out TODAY that we'll be moving out of North Texas to SACRAMENTO, California...in THREE weeks... my head is still spinning about that. Finally, OUT OF TEXAS!!!

10. East in order to avoid any breaking glass
falling on my head. Living in Oklahoma I don't want to sleep with my head in front of the windows that face north, south or west since that's where all of the winds come from at different times of the year.
