My cat has an empty Haagen-Dazs container on his head
he's a black cat but now has vanilla on his head and whiskers.

Does anyone else have feline ice cream fanatics?

1. Dog and cat both at our house
My cat's neater than your cat. Or maybe the dog just tidies her up.

2. Cats
I have never had less than 4 cats and grew up with over a dozen around. Farm.

I have had cats that will eat pot, if anyone left a sack out gone. Mom found a bag in the linen closet empty but was none the wiser. I've seen them eat corn on the cob (different cat), asparagus, Siamese fighting fish, snakes, bull frogs, etc. I had one cat that would always split a squirrel with us, literally. Sometimes we would get the tail end others the head and torso.

Interesting animals. Great footwarmers.

3. i can't tell how hard i laughed when my cat got a tiny paper bag
with catnip in it stuck on her head....and i was trying so hard not to laugh because she'd fallen off the top of the refrigerator and apples and oranges from a fruit bowl were raining down on top of her, as she was wildly shaking her head and backing up. poor sweet baby-i did come close to wetting myself, though.

i have a friend who had an older jack russell dog. he came home and found her on her side with a box of 'Senior Snacks' on her head...he thought she was dead, but she'd just fallen asleep...

6. My old cat, Oreo did that!
I had gotten a sub sammich and a bag of chips for dinner one night, then got a phone call and ran in the bedroom to answer.

After I hung up, I got distracted in the bedroom on the computer. Kept hearing a funky crackly noise, but wasn't sure what it was.

"Oree!" I called sternly.
The noise continued.
I called again.
It still continued.

Finally I went out in the living room to find my cat backing around the room crazily with the potato chip bag stuck on her head. I don't think I'd ever laughed that hard in my life!

4. Our old Lab.
Sorry, not a cat but a funny story. Our old Lab Tootie had a seizure disorder. We controlled it mostly with meds. One day I bought her a little cup of ice cream. She went crazy for it and chased it all over the back of my car until it got stuck under the seat. Every time she got into my car she would go to that corner and have a seizure she would get so excited. It was very odd and an endearing remembrance of the old dear. She LOVED ice cream.

5. I have an ice cream fanatic

Just finished sharing some Cherry Garcia with my nine year old Persian (I just give him a few licks since most kitties don't tolerate large quantities of dairy products well.)

7. My Angel likes Breyers Cherry Vanilla...
Goes nuts when I get a dish of it. I let her have what has melted when I'm done. She gets mad if I bring home a flavor other than HER favorite!

8. Both cats and dogs don't handle dairy well
they tend to get the runs.

This cat will grab the spoon right out of your hand to get a taste. He doesn't care what flavor either.

He's crazy for it. Simba is less so, but he loves milk (especially skim - go figure).

12. Oatmeal
My cat eats breakfast with me every morning - oatmeal and toast (I'm very boring and predictable). He loves it.

I used to have a dog who loved ice cream, though. We used to go for walks in the park and she'd drag me to the ice cream truck - when she heard the bell, she'd go ballistic. She liked a vanilla cone, I had mint chocolate chip......

16. I used to. My dearly beloved kitties, Smokey and Tiffy loved ice cream
They'd patiently wait for me to finish my bowl of vanilla. I'd set it on the floor and they'd happily lap away.

17. One of my cats will mug for chocolate ice cream
She'll sneak up and try to grab the bowl away from me as I'm eating from it. Only chocolate and chocolate variants though.

Chocolate is supposedly bad for cats, so I scrape the bowl pretty clean and then let her lick the last quarter teaspoon off the bottom. It keeps her happy and she hasn't shown any bad effects.

I used to have a cat who would make flying runs onto our laps and then right off again at dinner time, snagging slices of roast beef from our plates with one claw as she zipped by. Those were the days.
