Since the mediahorse has gone out to pasture for a while, I'd forgotten how much fun Charades is. But a poster over at atrios.blogspot.com put something up that kind of rang a bell.
Here are the rules:
o Take an everyday quotation from the day's news.
o Predict the country's response.
o Predict the Right's response. Then..
o Predict the Media Whores' response!
Players: Infinite.
Scoring: No points for anything. It's all so predictable.
Example (fictitious)
Quotation: "Sen. John Kerry discovers a cure for cancer."
America: "Well, hot damn! It's about time someone did."
The Right: "John Kerry coordinated release of his cancer cure with his campaign staff!"
Media Whores: "John Kerry's cure for cancer leaves thousands of diseases untreated."
Example
Quotation: "Robert McNamara says the United States got it wrong in Iraq."
America: "Why the hell are our sons and daughters dying for W's oil buddies?"
The Right: "Robert McNamara is an Unamerican Traitor who knows nothing about war!"
Media Whores: "Iraq: does the newsmedia publish too many negative stories?"
