2. I'm still using 0.8
I cannot stand all the gaudy themes for 0.9, so I'm sticking with 0.8 for my nice, small, monochrome Pinstripe (default 0.8 theme on a Mac).

I thought the Firefox (it's "Firefox," not "Foxfire," by the way) folks got that the point is the page, not the interface. Looks like I was wrong. Sigh.

Mozilla fixes flaws in Firefox
http://www.cooltechzone.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=616&Itemid=0

The Mozilla Foundation announced that it has fixed 10 critical flaws in its open source Firefox browsers and Thunderbird e-mail client in next generation browsers.

The flaws were rather critical as they allowed access to the user's machine by an attacker. The attacker could also run a malicious code on the user's computer via an e-mail message or a webpage.

4. "websites tell me that I need the friggin plugin..."
that happened to me on Mozilla...i think what happened was the .exe thinger came in as a .zip file or some such shit (accidentally used flashget)...i uninstalled and reinstalled...both work like a dream and the shit SAVED my bookmarks, and settings so it was pretty cool.

7. i don't like how firefox organized my bookmarks..
I have a ton of IE Favorites organized in directories and subdirectories. Directories are at the top, and any loose bookmarks are located at the bottom of the (sub)directory. With Firefox, it screws up the hierarchical order, and puts all the loose bookmarks in alphabetical order with the subdirectories. I can't sort them manually by drag n drop either, so now my bookmarks are a mess. I'll use Firefox as a novelty, but I still prefer IE.

14. that's weird
when you say directory, does that mean the line of text that represents the URL of a bookmarked page? i just tried that, and no prob. Files move too. also i can move stuff around in the drop-down menu, without manage. i could do that with v 0.9.3; i downloaded to disk, 1.0 last night no problem...i did have problems when i downloaded using Flashget, so if you used something that zipped the file, maybe that's the trouble...sorry to hear about that.
hope you can get it fixed-this is faster and more secure than IE, and you can open stuff in tabs, which i think is way cool!
now that i have written all of this, i realise that i had some little trouble with the bookmarks the first time in firefox, and, unlike Mozilla, you can delete, and re-import your bookmarks....
if you feel so inclined it's bookmarks> manage> file> import.

11. These threads always warm my heart
The fewer people using IE and OE the better!

My next big jump is going to be Windows 98 to Mandrake Linux 10.1 (when it comes out.)

Then I'll be M$ free forever!
