1. Watching the weather channel
I heard them say it will stall when it comes further inland, just like Frances did over Florida.

2. Sorry Alabama
We, your neighbors to the right, like to joke at your expense, but I do hope everyone will be ok.

And, on a positive note, Alabama is a clean state. No litter anywhere. A refreshing change from the cesspool that is Atlanta.

3. You see, the D in the center of the circle stands for Depression
And Ivan, after seeing all the destruction he has caused will inevitably become depressed and refuse to move or even get out of bed. He will just sit there and dump where he is without regard to sanitation.

Eventually, some other weather system, let's call her Jeanne, will give Ivan a push. However, by then, Ivan will have engaged in spectular dissipation and will be completely unrecognizable and gone with the wind.

If only we had gotten to him when he was a Tropical Wave......

9. I'll be right about where that "D" is when Ivan comes through...
But I'll be with the love of my life... weathering the storm together! I can hardly wait!

6. No, this particular map always shows a five-day forecast.
Hence, the "Potential Day 4-5 Track Area" item in the legend.

8. but the 4 & 5 day are in a circle
not a path in its forward direction - meaning that it won't have any more forward progress...

11. No. This map is a five-day map. Therefore, it stops at five days.

12. Dare I say this . . . I am a meteorologist
(ducks)

The forecast has the remnants of Ivan stalling over TN, but I think it's too early to tell exactly what will happen after landfall. I know. . everyone hates to hear that, but it's true. It's pretty safe to say that much of the SE will see rain for the end of the week-weekend.

13. Meterology is WAY cool
At age 20, I made a choice, I was either going to study Meterology or Theatre, I chose Theatre which is why I now have a Doctorate in Computer Science..........
