"Unfiltered" on Air America Radio is Pretty Awful (IMHO)
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 10:14 AM by Stevendsmith
It's the Larry King of liberal radio, in my opinion.

We're approaching an election of epic proportions and today's topic is the Ms. America pagent?!!

This is par for the course for this program, which regularly focuses on topics that, in light of our national emergency, are marginal at best.

1. Listen to the Lynn Cullen show
the link is at the top of the page. She is off today, but her substitute John McIntyre is pretty good.

2. No way...
I listen to UF for about an hour every day and they are always talking about politics and hitting * hard. My only complaint is that sometimes Matos and Chuck push the "lesser of two evils" argument a bit too much. But other than that I enjoy the show and the banter.

5. it's true though
while i really like kerry and i'm working to help him win wisconsin, do you really think he's going to change the status quo much?

i love clinton too, but we tend to gloss over the bad things he did. nafta and all the other free trade agreements, the continued corporate expansion, and his so called "welfare reform"

both parties are pretty bad, though i will say that this year, the difference between the two "evils" is MUCH more considerable

3. I felt the same way.
I'm willing to cut the program some slack, but Miss America may be timely, but not nearly as important as the upcoming election.

6. We all have our opinions.
I enjoy "Unfiltered." It's probably my favorite show on AAR.

To each his own.

7. I think it is especially disgusting with this Sarah person on...
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 10:23 AM by hlthe2b
What on earth they think she adds, slays me. I know she is on some tv comedy, but I find her not remotely funny--nor informed-- and her childish "little girl voice" drives me NUTS!

I like Pap attack and Rachel seems to have some political/media "chops" but the rest is a patchwork show at best. I don't really have anything against Chuck D or Liz-- she can be sort of cynically funny sometimes, but the show really is a patchwork.

On the otherhand, I really think the two "Marks" mesh very well together on Morning Sedition. The show is really a pretty interesting blend of comedic satire and serious political interviews and discussion. I've been impressed with some of the guests they've managed to bring on and Mark Riley is a good foil for the zaney Mark M.

I have to agree with Randi Rhodes re: Majority Report: Sam and Janine really need to develop some structure behind it, as it really is pretty schizophrenic in its format. I also wish Janine would stop arguing so much with Sam. Both are very bright, but they need a producer to shape the show, IMO.

9. Sarah Silverman claim to fame his her "chink" comment
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 10:37 AM by Feeney2
on the Leno or Letterman Show. As in something about eating "chink food" after the show. It was tasteless done at the couch and not part of any routine. But she was pretty good in "School of Rock". I like "Unfiltered" even though today is pretty weak. Chuck D didn't seem to want to be aprt of the Miss America crap.
