OK kids... coolest cell phone?
Since I no longer myself know what's cool...! :D

I may have a chance to get work to pay for a cell phone for me. If so, I want it to make a statement. I want it to say "This guy's about as cool as they come" or "This guy doesn't need the phone, he's just cool like that" or "This guy's a Dingbat, but he's making it work for him". ;)

Anyone have a phone they like? Better still, anyone covet one?

1. the coolest people
don't HAVE cell phones

that being said, i grudgingly purchased one once i moved out after figuring it to be about the same price and more convenient than a house phone

my friend calls them "self image boosters"

if you can dial numbers and other people pick up when you do it, and it rings when other people call you, i'd say that's a pretty good phone

2. I just got a much better cell phone than I actually need
But the extra cost of this vs. the crappy phone was only $30 or so so I went for it. (The decent battery life, sound quality and feel in the hand were the selling points.)

It's a Motorola camera phone with a color screen and Internet capability, because you know I've always dreamed of taking pictures with my cell phone and e-mailing them to random people. Honestly -- I don't need this. Nobody calls me on it except when I'm travelling or to ask me to pick something up on the way home. It's a complete novelty. But it's a good phone.

4. I just got one of those too.
I switched my service over to T-Mobile, and got an Motorola V300. I don't think I'll use the camera too much, but the speakerphone will certainly come in handy.

3. the ones that have the funniest useless features
camera and text messaging and stuff. HILARIOUS. I only own a picture one cause it was a buy one get one free deal and my mom's old one broke. i never use it except to call my mom to pick me up. but i feel like a stereotypical asswipe for owning one.

5. Bah, who needs a cell phone!
CB radios, now that's the ticket, good buddy!

In my day, when I was a kid, cell phones were HUGE.

And it cost $500 just to turn it on! And the battery only lasted two minutes, and then it took 30 days and 30 nights to recharge the battery. And it only had a range of 10 feet. Instead of ring tones, the phone just sent 10,000 volts of electricity into your brain, and then you'd have to buy a new battery from NASA and it required a PhD in physics to install as you had to add the plutonium just right, otherwise you'd kill everyone in your city. The buttons were made from shards of broken glass, so you had to wear your cell phone mits else you'd get rabies.

The phone weighed 50 pounds and after speaking for an hour the bones in your neck would crack and you'd end up with your head twisting around your neck like Linda Blair in The Exorcist.

Those were the days, by gum!
