Drunken mower guy arrested on highway

TROY, Ill., Sept. 22 (UPI) -- If your driver's license is suspended for drunken driving, police warn the suspension also applies to riding mowers -- especially if you're on a public road.

They're apparently not getting that message in metropolitan St. Louis, however, where a second man this year has been slapped with a lawn mower DUI, the Post-Dispatch reported Wednesday.

A Collinsville, Mo., man was arrested Sunday night in Troy, Ill., while riding his Power Pro lawn mower down U.S. Route 40, the newspaper said. He was reportedly en route from a party to a local pub -- and was 6 1/2 miles from his home, police said. A sobriety test put his blood-alcohol level at 0.13 percent; the legal limit is 0.08 percent.
