Today's Mindless Question: AAR Morning Sedition Listeners:
What does "Fire Truck!" refer to?

Ya know how you get a dumb song stuck in your mind? Well this is my mental obsession, today. Help me out, will ya?

3. That could be.... I must have missed the first time MM used it....
He now keeps saying it and sort of joking about those who email asking what it is all about, "sort of in the vein, you had to be there...."

Just like the stupid song you can't get out of your mind, this has no importance whatsoever. So, why was I so fixated on it? :eyes:

4. f word
A euphemism for the F-Word perhaps?

"What begins with an F and ends with a U-C-K -- Firetruck" used to be a little joke when I was a kid.

I don't usually listen to the show so it's just a guess.

6. Came from the late lamented Soupy Sales Show

Along with the classic:

"My girlfriend and I went to a baseball game last night. We were so cuddly - I kissed her on the strikes and she kissed me on the balls."

White Fang and Black Tooth, anyone??

BTW: Morning Sedition is horrible - Marc Maron is about as funny as a crutch.

7. Ahh, I like MM. His manic energy at 4AM Mountain time as I'm struggling
to get up, is just what I need. I like Riley, too. He's the perfect foil... Besides, they are getting some really great interviews lately-- e.g. Michael Ware calling from Badhdad (Time Mag), Larry Johnson (CIA whistleblower), Ron Suskind, Sydney Blumenthal, Prof. Yoshi Tsurumi (Bush's* old Harvard Prof), Mark Crispin Miller, Thomas Frank, Peter Bergen, Robert Reich, Sen. Chuck Schumer, Jamie Rubin, Jesse Jackson, Rep. Barney Frank, Rep Corrine Brown.... etc., etc.

Given how early they broadcast, it is a pretty amazing list and the interviews are pretty serious, despite Maron's comedic roots.

8. I like Riley a lot
I just wish they'd team him wih someone else.

Could be generational, but Maron to me reminds of the "hey, look at me!" kid from school.

Nobody liked that kid. :)

9. They told the story behind that one, this morning....LOL
I find it really funny, because I feel that anguished sometimes when DU posts all go towards the "silly copycat threads" or {don't flame me,now} to sports..

It's a great phrase, though... It does tend to bring things back to perspective when we get too hysterical!
