Then again, I grew up in Oxnard, CA. Can't get much worse a name for a town than that.

are in California.

Weed

La Brea Tar Pits (La Brea is tar pit in Spanish)

El Sugundo (bad Spanish for 'the second'. The second what? Why the second Atlantic Richfield oil refinery!)

Rancho Penasquitos: Ranch of the small mosquitos.

Del Playa Beach (Del Playa meaning 'the beach'. Lots of bad Spanish here.)

Fresno

Lots of San and Santa names... many place names are from Catholic churches.

Las Pulgas (The Fleas. Yeah, I want to live there)

Anahiem. 'Anna's House'.

In Arizona, there's Gila Bend.

Kansas City Missourri.

75. Climax, Michigan - 300 miles from - Paradise, Michigan
There used to actually be a sign, "You are nearing Climax" in the late '60's.

I'm sure the PC Police have taken it down by now.

Paradise is on the UP on the edge of Lake Superior on Whitefish Bay and is actually quite nice.
