New Green Day CD is pretty cool
there are even tablas on it!!?? Who knew. Good to hear them stretch out. But it is not anything like Tommy, no matter what Rolling Stone says. Why the rock opera format, I don't know. But it seems more to me like a powerful soundtrack to a film of some sort - maybe one by Gus Van Sant. I like it.

the Indian hand drums... it is just weird for them, the most complex they usually get is using a viola.

9. somehow I wouldn't be surprised
I really haven't read much about the narrative focus of the CD. There are some pretty good songs.
