27. Me 2
Yeah, I did the kilt, combat boots, beret, dark glasses circuit party/club thing.

No underwear, of course.

Which is why I can't run for office. I was down in Key West one time walking down the street, and some little old woman wanted her picture taken with me. She knelt down next to me, and as her husband snapped the picture, she yanked the kilt up and nestled her face next to my most intimate of areas.

5. It IS socially acceptable
Actually it's considered to be the most elegant men's formal wear in the world.

7. Well, saying it IS 'socially acceptable'
at least here in the US, is a bit of a stretch.

6. No. It's a Victorian invention, and I hate all that faux-Scottishness.
Edited on Thu Sep-23-04 12:59 PM by Screaming Lord Byron
The Scots are drowning in their own manufactured 'history'.

11. What the Highlanders wore originally was more of a belted plaid.
Basically, a large piece of material worn like a toga. At night, they would often remove the garment and sleep on it.

Ease of access would not be impaired.

14. In battle, we donned a full-length ball gown covered in sequins.
The idea was to blind your opponent with luxury.

As long as there's no reduction in easy access, them I'm with you... forget kilts, we love toga-like plaid belted sashes!

10. Sure
But I'd rather wear a sarung. That's what I wore when I lived in Indonesia. Most comfortable article of clothing ever in a hot climate.

12. Skirts are definitely cooler....
From one who's socially allowed to wear skirts at any time!

Surely, the woolen kilt would be rather, umm, itchy in heat? Especially given the tradition of how it's worn.

But because it's not, I have to wear something. So why not a kilt?

43. Mr. Moonbeam wants a
custom made utilikilt. Thinks they are awesome. He is half-German so the idea of wearing something offbeat doesn't bother him a bit. And he loves the idea of airing the boys out.
