Anyone own an HP desktop? Would you recommend it?
I'm actively shopping around for a new PC, and I'm leaning towards getting an HP. Any HP desktop owners out there? What have your experiences been with it? Durability? Quality? Customer service?

Thanks.

1. I bought one last year. A Media Center PC, with P4. Not crazy about it.

Customer service has been good though.

2. Hell no!
Way too much of their own hokey software that fights with other software.

the hp has windows ME which has not been great but the machine seems ok
the sony I like better but that is because it is 3 years newer and faster

no customer service on either

I have hp printer that I bought in 1995 that I still use. I bought a service plan from alternative vendor and returned it twice before the contract expired and haven't had any problems since.

4. I do
I have an HP, about 3 years old, and its still running. I did have to replace the heat sink(?), the fan that covers the processor. Other than that, its been fairly reliable. Customer service was good when I first got it.

However, I would go Dell if I were looking for a new one. Maybe the advertising has gotten to me but I would give Dell a shot this time. Besides, since they merged with compaq or bought them out, I dont see nearly the aggressive marketing for their PC's that I used to. Makes me think something is not quite right in HP land.
