1. you need a program
like ipod viewer that will let you take the songs off the ipod.

2. Don't try to sync with your iTunes library...
It will erase all of the music on your iPod and replace it with a copy of your the iTunes library stored on your Mac. What you need is a little program called Senuti (you can get it off of macupdate or versiontracker). It will allow you to copy songs off of the iPod and save them on your Mac's hard drive. After you've copied over the songs you want you can double click them or drag them into iTunes to add them to your library. Then you can sync your new iPod, burn CDs or whatever you like.

3. you "can't" move songs from an iPod to a computer with the standard
software.

Because that would be... um... piracy.

You would need something like iPodRip (which we used when we forgot to make backups of my music... but for my iPod) to do what you want to do.

6. You outta check out this site for iPod users
You will find something that will work at www.ipodlounge.com as well as some other cool stuff for ipod.

I should say that doing what you are proposing would violate copyright. . . .
