In an e-mail, I received a blog from Americanblog in which they reveal the single most bizarre Repub position I have ever heard.
We know they don't want gays in the military. They say it messes up unit cohesion.
Americablog says here is something they will accept.....transgender soldiers. If a man undergoes surgery to become a woman, the military will accept him/her because they have decided the guy/gal is still a guy. So even though he wears dresses, makeup and heels, he still fits the bill for GI Joe.

that the transgendered person say male to female would serve with the males ? Huh ? Or would be in the barracks with females ?

They probably just like the idea of someone they could rape assault and humiliate that can't really (not always) hide their sexual identity.

I don't trust their suggestion here, there has to be something cruel behind it.

My husband spent 20 years in and he said they all knew them and just left them alone. As long as they did their job they were no trouble.

Is that serious? Good grief. While gay is not my thing either (even as an indpendent with Democrat leanings) THAT is a stupid thing to put out in the public eye! Hahaha... I know of several retirees with exellent service records (and medals covering their chest and that ever-Bush-popular "honorable discharge") that "came out" after all those years when they could breathe! That whole military/government thing is such a charade and a sham.
