Poll question: MP3 catalogue genre question - should reggae and dancehall be separate?
Should I split folks like Sizzla, Capleton and Buju from he roots folks like Bob, the Gladiators and the Congos?

Where would Luciano fall if I did?

1. I think you care entirely too much about genres.
Where would you file Mongo Santamaria? "Latin?" "Jazz?" "Latin Jazz?"

Just cool out and dig the vibrations.

5. It matters when you select a genre and hit shuffle for a party
you have mmellow roots rasta stuff and then Capleton screaming and ranting (which is great but buzzkilling)

4. there's so much argument about who belongs where
it's ridiculous. You can't get a definitive answer. Might as well group them together like the music stores, it's easier--they probably know what they're doing. You'll know which is which.

Some folks just can't live like that though. They have to have the "little fiddly bits" Do what makes ya feel good, and enjoy the music!

7. depends on how anal you are
I would split them. Dance hall precedes reggae in the scheme of things.
