Whoever put up that eversof***ing brilliant flashing Bush face passthough on the DU homepage owes me a new keyboard and monitor!I walked into my office this morning, sat down at my computer, and typed www.democraticunderground.com into my computer just like I do every day and instead of that every so familiar red white & blue/black color scheme, I'm instead presented with the FACE OF SATAN HIMSELF. Damned thing scared the hell out of me so bad that I fell out of my chair and dumped an entire cup of steaming hot dragonwell onto my keyboard and monitor.

THAT WAS NOT FUNNY :mad: :grr: :mad: :grr: :mad: :argh:

Wow, mature response yourself. Look, how would YOU react if you typed in the DU url, turned your chair slightly, and then suddenly saw THIS



staring back at you, full screen, out of the corner of your eye? It was so unexpected that it literally made me jump and fall out of my chair. My MS Natural Keyboard is in the dish rack of our employee break room right now drip drying from that, and my carpet is STILL wet.

I'll grow up when I get an explanation.:P

Sorry, I didn't realize that I needed to lay it out step by step. My keyboard sits on a tray that sticks out from underneath my desk. I was holding a cup of dragonwell (Chinese Green Tea) in my left hand, and had turned to the right to look at some papers. When the image popped up it startled me so much that I jumped to the right (away from the computer) and fell of my chair. Since my tea was in my left hand (next to the computer) it went all over the keyboard, carpet, and a bit of the monitor and my chair.

Did you think I made that up or something? Sorry, my keyboard is genuinely soaked, and it's the fault of whoever put that image there.

When it was a cute little avatar, it was funny.

When a full-screen Big Brother-esque Shrub is staring at you through the monitor, it's absolutely terrifying.

That may have had a lot to do with my reaction.

For that split second, when a giant * came up on my screen, I was half-expecting stormtroopers to crash through the window and arrest me for thoughtcrime.
