20. I think it was the last one...
Black Sea I think...then came "English Settlement" after Andy's breakdown, which I don't think they toured for...

27. Actually, I was all set to see XTC in Detroit
on their tour for English Settlement. My memory of this disappointing turn of events is that the show and the remainder of the tour were cancelled only a couple of weeks ahead of that date due to Andy's breakdown, which I THINK happened after the tour was already underway. It was a long time ago and I could be wrong about that last bit, though.

Anyhow, 'Mummer' was the first album produced after the breakdown.

Probably my all-time favorite band. Certainly in my top 2 or 3.

An hilarious film, and a treasure-trove of quotable quotes. Uncle Monty is priceless.

22. Okay, I'm adding a second...
My discussions about "My Bloody Valentine" remind me of one of my favorite psych bands of all time: "Spacemen 3".

The sad thing is that I had tickets to see them opening for the "Butthole Surfers" in NYC (?!), but they weren't allowed in the country because of drug convictions...Instead one of the most boring bands I've ever seen opened, "Band of Susans".

Sonic Boom later toured with "Spectrum", so I guess they decided to let them in...(They were great, and played an amazing version of "Spacemen 3's" song Suicide).

24. In the summer of '68 Ma forbade me to go see both
The Doors and Hendrix in Miami. (Not the same show.) I was 16 and a good boy so complied with her wishes. How I wish I had defied her. Turns out that was the only chance I ever had to see either. The Doors concert was the infamous "drop trou" concert. Alas. I miss Jimi, Jim and Ma to this day.

Woof

38. Sex Pistols...I had tickets for the Pittsburgh show
And a plane ticket. Then they were refused entry...

I also gave away a ticket to see Hendrix to my brother. But he was a total FREAK on Hendrix and has never forgotten the sacrifice, so I can't say I really regret it.

The guy I REALLY regret not seeing, not that I ever had the chance since he died before I was born, is Hank Williams.
