I want to load Firefox, but I'm afraid to cut the ie cord
It's like standing on the high dive for the first time staring down at the pool. I hear great things about this browser, but I've been on ie for so long it's a habit, somebody give me a shove.

2. You can keep IE in reserve for when you need it
or more likely feel more comfortable. On your desktop , you will have IE and Firefox. I use use IE 1% of the time.

4. You can have both but

once you go to foxfire you'll never go back. I just installed two days ago and I love it. It is sooo configurable . There are themes and extensions that make it much more configurable then IE. For me the best feature is the ability to set RSS feeds as bookmarks so I'm always just a click away from the headlines! Also no pop-ups!!

7. great topic! I'm in same boat.
I'd downloaded Mozzilla recently but I get kicked off every session.
presumably it is me not it.
I'm on a Mac OSX 1.15

Really would be keen on dumping IE but I'm a-scared!

34. Since you are using a Mac, you could try Camino which
is a Mozilla Browser optimized for the Mac. It has tab browsing just like Firefox. I installed it on the iMac at school. Just a suggestion since you're having problems with firefox.

25. far more stable and secure
It never crashes and it repels viruses. And it just works better. In my case, it is slower, but compared to the mess that is IE, I am willing to suffer when it slows down.

9. Firefox is awesome, end of story.
Okay first of all, there's this plugin you can install, so that when you right click a link, there's an option to "open link in IE"!!!
2. The security issues are next to nil for Firefox. IE's are well known, well documented, and quite dangerous.
3. Tabbed browsing - fantastic! Instead of opening links in a new browser every time, eating up memory and forcing you to click between different browsers when you want to see two or more sites at the same time... tabbed browsing mean that you only have one browser open, and multiple web pages are shown as tabbed pages
4. Hundreds of plugins that do all sorts of things - adds a calendar, for instance.
5. On the right side of the address bar, is a search bar. And then you can add extra search engines to this search bar, so that you type in a term, and then press enter, and it'll search that term at the selected engine. Then, select a different engine (but the term still stays in the box) press enter, and now you're searching the same term but at another engine. You can even search amazon and ebay with it
6. I've never looked back at IE.

35. I love that you can add search engines
I use the French dictionary one and I'm going to use the engines that allow you to look up programming code/syntax for C++, Java, etc.

Seriously. I love Firefox. There are very few problems with it (like MSN groups don't work well in it - go figure). Cookie management is massively superior to IE, security isn't even an issue, tabs are the shit, just try it out.

I still need IE to check my email because their crappy proprietary email server won't recognize Firefox, but I use it for EVERYTHING else.:)

Firefox is so much better. After downloading and installing it, I would recommend getting the Tabbrowser Extension extension. It adds so me very nice tab browsing features. The Adblock extension is very nice as well.
