Poll question: Favorite Unusual Presidential Name?
The most common Presidential names are very common names in general:

James
John
William
George

But some have only appeared once. Here are some of the most interesting. :D

18. I picked Ulysses, too.
His birth name was Hiram Ulyssess Grant. He didn't like the initials ("H.U.G."), so he started using Ulysses Hiram Grant. But there was a clerical error when he signed up for the military, and his papers said Ulysses Simpson Grant, and he stuck with that.

As in Andrew "kickass" Jackson.

He kicked the Cherokees' ass
Ran them out of the state. Most of them died on the way to exile. Sorry to be so gloomy, but that is what I think of when I see his face on a twenty dollar bill.

11. Took an entire class on him in college
After his election, he threw open the White House for his inaugural reception. A disgruntled citizen came that day to dry to assassinate him. The would-be assassin had a gun, but that day it was very damp so the gun wouldn't go off. It took 3 people to pull AJ off of his would be assassin. He nearly beat the guy to death with his walking stick and he was in his 60s at the time. He rocked!
